"The Wisdom of Children"

At a time in the year when deadlines are plentiful and stress levels are high, Matt Pargeter-Villarreal reflects on his experience as an unwitting youth minister and how, in the midst of unspeakable tragedy like the Parkland school shooting, he has found inspiration and wisdom in the words and the stories shared by the youth with whom he has been working.

In Our 9:30am and 11:30am Explorer classes:

Nursery (infant to Pre-K): Infants and young children are invited to our nursery for a time of play, discovery, nurture, and connection. If you are visiting for the first time, feel free to arrive early to meet our nursery staff and to spend time in the room (classroom number 4) with your child.

Grades PreK-1st: Students will continue exploring Emergence. We will be celebrating National Superhero Day by learning about a real life Unitarian Universalist hero: Rev. William E. Channing. We will watch a video, create our own superhero masks, and share cake.

Grades 2-5: Students will continue exploring Emergence by celebrating National Superhero Day and the (late) birthday of Rev. William E. Channing, the father of Unitarianism. We will read a story, spend some time outside, decorate a card, and share cake. Also, Edyn earned 20 leadership points, so she gets to choose a theme for the day. Her chosen theme is Cats! All students are invited to wear anything cat-related to class.

Between the services at 10:40 am

Inquirers Series: Orientation to DUUF - in Room 2 - What is the history of this particular Fellowship? Who were the early founders and leaders? What is the history of our building? What parts are uniquely “DUUF”? Newcomers are especially invited to attend this session on Denton’s only Unitarian Universalist congregation.

The theme for April is EMERGENCE! Looking for wisdom to emerge? Go to Fellowship Hall during coffee hour and look for the emerging wisdom board.
