Leading the Way to a Better Tomorrow - Reverend Donna Dolham

Join us as we consider how some of the ancestors of our ancestors help us connect to our faith today and into tomorrow.

In our 9:30 and 11:30 am Explorer Classes

Nursery (infant to Pre-K): Infants and young children are invited to our nursery for a time of play, discovery, nurture, and connection. If you are visiting for the first time, feel free to arrive early to meet our nursery staff and to spend time in the room (classroom number 4) with your child.

Grades PreK-1st: The theme for this month is Memory. This Sunday we will be remembering Frances Ellen Watkins Harper, learning about Sankofa, and practicing remembering people who are dear to us.

Grades 2nd-5th: The theme for this month is Memory. This Sunday we will learn about the West African “Sankofa” symbol.  It symbolizes the importance of learning and growing from the experiences of those who have gone before us.  We will create a craft using symbols that are meaningful to us.

From the Leadership

From the Interim Minister

Donna headshot August 2018

Here are the highlights you shared from the stewardship kick off Sunday on October 7th: community, love, support, the people, belonging and all that help create this Denton Unitarian Universalist Fellowship. The need for DUUF and our Unitarian Universalist message in Denton is evident as new people join us every Sunday! Without you, none of this would be possible.

As we continue forward engaging what the next year will encompass, hold tight to these grounding and life sustaining aspects of what this community is to you and the recognition of how you make a difference. You contribute to creating just such a place and if you notice some are missing, reach out to help them recognize their place here at DUUF.

This community is vibrant; full of ideas and hopes for the future. Suppers, book groups, fellowship groups, lunch bunch, community work days, the transgender awareness panel and so much more happens here! If you have an idea or miss a program that used to happen that you no longer find here at DUUF, talk to a member of the board, the life span faith development council or me. Join our upcoming work day to help spruce up our building and maintain our ability to engage hospitality through our space. Take time to fill out your commitment form which will be the foundation on which next years congregational programs will be built on. Thank you for all you contribute to create such a loving community.

Denton Unitarian Universalist Fellowship is relevant, needed and a strong presence in our community!

May your days and nights be blessed,

Reverend Donna Dolham

The Board wants you to nominate nonprofits for 6 of the 2019 second offerings and vote for these selections at the December congregation meeting. Send your names of organizations to president@dentonuuf.org, including your contact information in case of questions.

Stewardship

2018.1007 post

Denton Unitarian Universalist Fellowship participates in a theme-based ministry program called Soul Matters. Our stewardship kickoff began just as we entered our monthly congregational Soul Matters theme of sanctuary. Many of you participated in creating a sunflower filled with answers to the questions: "In what way does this Fellowship give your life meaning? Why did you come, what keeps drawing you back?"

Please take a moment to review all the ways the congregation makes a difference to our members and friends of all ages. If you missed the chance to add your answers to these questions, it is not too late! Please feel free to add your answers as well.

Below is a link to our Stewardship form. Every person’s participation matters in creating this loving community of Denton Unitarian Universalist Fellowship. The programming that supports the life of this congregation is created with your commitments to our congregation. If you have not yet filled out your commitment form, please take a moment to do so.
