Have Dreams Receives $20,000 Garden of Goodness Grant from Astellas USA Foundation

Astellas Cooking Class Fall 2015

Have Dreams participants and families learned to cook nutritious meals through a healthy eating initiative established through a grant from Astellas USA Foundation last year. With this new, recently awarded $20,000 grant from Astellas USA Foundation, participants will also have the opportunity to grow and harvest their own vegetables and herbs from an outdoor Garden of Goodness.

Have Dreams recently received a $20,000 grant from Astellas USA Foundation to provide Have Dreams participants the opportunity to cultivate an outdoor vegetable and herb garden. A year-round autism-specific curriculum will help participants increase their healthy eating habits by learning how to plant, maintain and harvest the garden, prepare vegetables and herbs they grow themselves and incorporate these and other healthy foods into their daily diet. With this Garden of Goodness Healthful Harvest initiative, Have Dreams and Astellas USA Foundation aim to improve the health and well-being of participants by promoting healthy eating habits and to combat obesity. Founders Share Memories of
Have Dreams' Beginnings

Have Dreams' original founders recently gathered at our Park Ridge location to share stories of Have Dreams' beginnings. These stories will be part of a special video to be shown at the Night of Dreams 20th Anniversary Gala on April 30th at the Radisson Blu Aqua in Chicago. After the Gala, we'll also post the video to YouTube. Thank you to our Have Dreams' founders for all they have done for Have Dreams over the years!
