Community Comes Together to Help Fund a New Van

Thank You to Northfield Park District and GoFundMe Donors

The van that Have Dreams uses to drive Life SCILS participants to their internships and activities was recently vandalized, stranding our participants. Internships and activities, such as volunteer work and trips to the YMCA for exercise are an integral part of our Life SCILS program for adults on the autism spectrum. Getting out and participating in activities in the community provides opportunities for Social, Communication and Independent Living Skills at the core of this program.

We’re asking for your help to raise funds for a new, safe vehicle that will be used in the continuing education and empowerment of Have Dreams participants. If you would like to help out, please see our
GoFundMe page to make a donation - no amount is too small to make a difference!

Until we have enough funds to purchase a new van, the Northfield Park District has graciously lent us their van to use in the meantime. Thank you Northfield Park District for your generosity!

Run for a Reason:
Join Our Chicago Marathon Team

Have you been thinking about upping your fitness goals this year by running a marathon to build your confidence, become more physically fit, or to knock another item off your bucket list? If so, why not let the inspiration and motivation of helping others make those 26.2 miles count even more? By running for Team Have Dreams in the Bank of America Chicago Marathon on October 8, 2017, you'll be part of a fun group of runners whose common goal is to raise money to directly help individuals with autism.

We have been an official Chicago Marathon charity since 2009. Our program will pay your $195 registration fee, provide CARA training, dry-fit shirt, training bag filled with cool stuff, a pasta party, and more. Join our Team Have Dreams for autism today!

Be a part of something bigger than yourself -
join Team Have Dreams for autism!

Thank You Whole Foods!
5% Community Giving Day a Huge Success

On October 25th, five local Whole Foods stores participated in a 5% Community Giving Day benefiting Have Dreams. Five percent of net sales at all three Evanston locations, Park Ridge, and Sauganash-Chicago stores, went to Have Dreams for a whopping total of $15,920!

Our Life SCILS participants also shopped at Whole Foods that day and enjoyed learning about the healthy foods they buy, prep and eat while attending Have Dreams programs.

Thank you to Whole Foods for their incredible generosity and their commitment to giving back to the community. Thank you, also, to everyone who shopped at Whole Foods on Community Giving Day to make a difference for individuals with autism!

We Care We Share Fashion Show
Generously Raises Funds for Have Dreams

Thank you to Sylwia Wilczynska and Dennis Dituri for including Have Dreams as one of the beneficiaries of the We Care We Share fundraiser at Artspace 8 in Chicago on December 8th. Sylwia and Dennis hand-delivered a check for $4,500 to Have Dreams this week and stayed to visit with participants.

Have Dreams was one of three charity beneficiaries of this fashion-forward event, including La Rabida Children's Trauma Center and the Superhero Collective. Guests enjoyed a live auction, live music, drinks and hors d'oeuvres while enjoying the elegant and sophisticated designs created by
Sylwia.

Thank you Sylwia Wilczynska and Dennis Dituri (pictured center) for their generous donation and for spending time with us at Have Dreams!

Thank you for your continued support to Help Autistic Voices Emerge through Have Dreams.
