NORTHCOTTS QFC STRIP PACKS This year Northcott's Quest for a Cure fabric is a truly magnificant package of 40 (forty) 2 1/2" strips. They have a free pattern on their website for a lovely quilt - Friendship Star (see below). These strip packs are expected to be delived this month, so watch our website often as I will post when they arrive! We will also have the traditional, coordinating Northcott Pink Ribbon fabric available!

Friday , September 9th 7 - 9 pm (approximately a 45 minute lecture) Are you overwhelmed when choosing threads for your quilting projects? With so much variety available today it can be both exciting and at times confusing. Make an informed decision - learn about the different fibres and weights, how to choose the correct needle, and how to adjust the dreaded tension dial. overcome your fear of metallic and specialty threads. We’ll talk about the “dust bunnies’ in your machine, where they come from, and what you should be doing about them!
Saturday, September 10th 9 - 4 Have you ever wanted to experiment with different threads before buying them? Well, now you can! This is an "open thread bar" workshop - you bring your machine and I'll bring the threads. Your kit will include a Topstitch 90 needle, prewound bobbin of Bottom Line, thread colour charts, and the opportunity to play with approximately 12 different lines of thread by Superior. Class notes plus a special 22-page handout are also provided. Have a taste of various applique techniques & sample some new products that are available to simplify the process. Learn both turned edge invisible and fused decorative methods. We will be using invisible and fusible thread, decorative threads, and fusible web. And just like in the Open Thread Bar™ - you bring your machine and I'll bring all the yummy Superior Threads for you to try!
This is a stress free day focusing on process rather than project. You will have samplers of all the techniques for future reference instead of another UFO! Non-refundable Registration Fee(s) are as follows:
