Featured Club: Leather Quest

Leather Quest had a graduation this month! Congratulations to graduates Jess Katz and Shane McKnight.

If you aren’t familiar, Leather Quest provides an 18 month program for serious students of BDSM. Once a month for the entire length of the program speakers and teachers are brought in to present a variety of advanced subjects ranging from history, to leather care, to spirituality, and beyond.

Upcoming Leather Alliance Events

Alden Spaffod Progressive Dinner

Join the Alliance on September 17th for this very unique event. We will start at Mr. S Leather for an appetizer, move to Wicked Grounds for soup, Kok for salad, Powerhouse for the main course, and the Hole in the Wall for dessert. Tickets are $20 and will help to cover the cost of the Alliance Holiday Volunteer Appreciation Party.

Leathermen's Discussion Group (LDG) Fetish Fair

LDG is hosting its eighth Fetish Fair at the S.F. Citadel on Wednesday, September 21st. The fair will consist of a dozen or so demonstrations of male-on-male kink, spread over three hours, from 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm. The event is sponsored by the Leather Alliance.

Golden Gate Guards (GGG) Rainbow Leather Cruise

Put on your Leather or uniform attire to take a cruise around the San Francisco Bay with GGG on September 24th! There will be a full no host wet bar and lunch onboard. For more info and to purchase tickets please visit the GGG web site.

Leather Alliance Weekend

The Community Awards Dinner will be on March 2nd, the Mr SF Leather Contest will be on March 3rd, 2012.

Mr SF Leather 2011 Darren Bondy update

Darren Bondy, Shawn Kinnear and the Leather Alliance sponsored an event called Balls to the Walls, which was a Leather Softball exhibition and social organized by Jessie Vanciel, Daddy Ray Tilton and Leland Carina. There were close to 40 Leather folk in attendance! Queen Cougar called brought the sunshine out with her beautiful rendition of the National Anthem. Beth Downey and Deborah Isadora Wade were umpires. Daddy Vick made sure everyone was fed. Ava and Arnell won MVP for their great spirit. Much fun was had and there's a rumor that it might become an annual event!

On the third Saturday of each month, Daren is hosting an event at the Powerhouse called Black Saturday. Come on out!

Mama's Leather Walk

Join Mama's Family and the rest of the community on September 18th. Full event details here. Registration at 10:30am at 440 Castro St.

Event Wrap Ups

GGG Silverado run

The Golden Gate Guards had a very successful run! Their theme for this year was Silverado. The run included rustic cabins, five meals, an award-winning run show, a play space, and more!

LDG panel

Nearly 300 people showed up for LDG's panel, "Is Leather Dead? Does it Need to Die?" which featured Gayle Rubin, Michael Thorn, Race Bannon and Guy Baldwin. For full coverage of the panel, check out this article on Leatherati.com.
