The Cinco de Mayo Festival was held on Valencia Street in
the Mission District this year. Singers in CMC’s Coro Solera (Mission Neighborhood Center) and Coro de la Treinta (30th Street Senior Center), and Community of Voices choirs at Mission Neighborhood Center and Centro Latino de San Francisco sang that afternoon for a great crowd.
Community Music Center’s Mission District Young Musicians Program hit the main stage with "musica bailable" - very danceable music - including favorites from Mexico, Colombia and Cuba. View photos by Jiale Zhi
Later that afternoon in the Kids Zone, CMC faculty and students from the Mission District Young Musicians Program demonstrated Latin Percussion, Guitar, Violin, Cello, Accordion, and Flute in an instrument petting zoo!
Scenes from a Beautiful Founders Circle Luncheon
On Saturday, April 26, 2014, Community Music Center hosted the Founders Circle Annual Luncheon to celebrate living members of the Founders Circle. The Founders Circle is a group of generous donors who have included CMC in their estate plans. Members are invited to many exciting events throughout the year, including this “Urban Picnic,” which took place in our newly acquired Victorian building at 552 Capp Street.
To learn about how you can make arrangements to support the life-enriching mission of CMC through your estate, we invite you to contact Development Director John Robinson at 415-647-6015 x76 or firstname.lastname@example.org. If you have already made plans and you are not sure if CMC is aware of your intentions, please let us know. That way we will be able to invite you to future events. Thank you.Read full article.
