Volunteers Needed for Homecoming Pep Rally (October 21) and Dance (October 22). We need parent volunteers to monitor the school parking lot midday on October 21 and to chaperone at the Homecoming Dance on October 22. Your duty will be to monitor students and notify the Deans if any situations arise. Please visit our

Angel Pack Program Needs Assistance – 1 Hour Twice- A -Month
The East Angels Friends and Alumni Foundation (EAFAF) sponsors the
East Angel Packs program to provide nutritious food to students in need. The program partners with the Food Bank of the Rockies and needs volunteers to help unload food at East twice a month. If you are interested in helping the Angel Packs program, please contact

FRESHMAN HOMEWORK NIGHT
The Parent Engagement Committee is holding a
Freshman Homework Night on Wednesday, October 12 from 7:00-8:30 pm. All freshman parents are invited to talk with teachers from 9th grade social studies, math, science, and English. There will also be sessions on Infinite Campus and Edmodo. All sessions will be held on the 1
st Floor at East.
HOMECOMING DANCE - SATURDAY, OCTOBER 22
Homecoming tickets go on sale Oct. 5th. For one week tickets will be $8 singles and $15 couples. Beginning October 12th, prices will increase to $10 singles and $18 couples. Buy early, save $$ and beat the rush! Guest passes are available in room 100. One guest per student and they must be on the same ticket. No guests over 20 allowed.
STUDENT COUNCIL FOOD DRIVE – SEND SOME CANNED FOOD TO SCHOOL WITH YOUR STUDENT
The East High canned food drive begins Monday, October 3. All food collected will go to families in our community. Student Council is asking that every East student bring in 2 cans. Some teachers are giving “perks” for bringing in cans.
FIRST ANNUAL FALL CARNIVAL – THURSDAY, OCTOBER 27 AT EAST
Our school families and neighbors are invited to attend East’s first annual Fall Carnival! Come for an evening of treats and fun sponsored by East clubs, sports teams and partnering organizations. The event runs from
5:00-7:00 pm in the Main Foyer. There will be a $1.00/per child donation. Families and children ages 0-13 are welcome to participate. High school students can attend if accompanied by a parent/guardian. Unaccompanied children and high school students will not be allowed in. Dress up in your favorite costume and participate in the costume contest, jumping castle, raffles, building tours, prizes, candy and more!

Counseling Office “Road Show”. If it is difficult for you to make it to the East campus to learn about college options for your student, the counseling office is coming to you! They will conduct sessions about college readiness, Naviance, FAFSA and the application process. Sessions are from 7-8 am and 6:30-7:30 pm on
Monday, October 10 at Denver Broncos Boys and Girls Club, 4397 Crown Blvd., Denver
College Readiness Day. On Wednesday,
October 12 East will hold a College Readiness Day. Freshmen will take the Explore test; sophomores will take the ACT PLAN test, and juniors will take the Kaplan ACT practice test.
Naviance. Encourage your student to check Naviance and sign up to visit with one of the many colleges and universities that will be visiting East.

College Boards. SAT and ACT are scheduled throughout the fall. Visit the
Counseling Update on the East website for test dates, registration deadlines and other important information.
College Representatives. If you student is interested in learning about colleges, we have representatives on campus frequently during the Fall. Go to the
Counseling Update to see which colleges will be visiting East.
