Here’s the news...
MAKE A DIFFERENCE DAY -- SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 19 FROM 8 AM TO NOON

You and your student are invited to join us at East to help spruce up the campus, classrooms and shared spaces. On Saturday we need volunteers to help with the deep cleaning work that our fantastic facilities staff doesn’t have time to do. Meet in the main lobby of school. Come for part or all of the time. Someone will be there throughout the morning to give you an assignment. Wear comfortable clothing and prepare to get dirty! Please contact Sheila Winstanley to let her know you’ll be coming. Coffee and refreshments will be provided.

A SPECIAL NOTE
As you may know, our principal, John Youngquist, will be leaving East in January. Please click HERE to read his letter to the community.
VOLUNTEER!
PTSA/EAFAF Faculty Grants Committee. We are looking for additional volunteers to join the PTSA/EAFAF Faculty Grants Committee. The committee reviews and funds faculty grant applications. Our work is engaging and will give you an opportunity to learn about many programs that take place all over East High School. It would involve two committee meetings, email communication and possibly phone contact with East staff. The work will begin in December and should be complete by February. If you are interested or want more information contact Megan McQuinn at megan_mcquinn@dpsk12.org.
East Arts Showcase. Volunteers are needed to help with an inaugural event to showcase visual arts, music and drama at East. We are forming a committee to develop the event and need your help! Please email eastangelsptsa@gmail.com if you are interested in helping develop this community event to showcase East’s fantastic arts departments.
East Teacher Appreciation Committee. The East Teacher Appreciation Committee (ETAC) provides food and treats to our East teachers and staff at various times throughout the school year. ETAC is looking to extend our list of families who would like to help provide these goodies. Please send your name and email address to eclmmwoody@aol.com and we will add you to our list. We will notify you when there is a request. This is a great way to volunteer and the teachers love this special attention.
Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities. PTSA can’t be successful without its volunteers. We have many opportunities to become involved, a little, or a lot, at East. Please visit Volunteer Spot and sign up today!

BUY YOUR KING SOOPERS CARD TO BENEFIT EAST
East High’s Foundation (EAFAF) is selling King Soopers cards for $50. The card is re-loadable (just like a Starbuck’s card). The Foundation gets 5% every time you reload. EAFAF funds many things on campus including buying bus passes for the kids that need them, paying AP fees, buying AP books for kids that can't afford them and paying sports fees for needy kids (in addition to numerous other activities that benefit students, alumni and faculty). You can help us raise more money simply by shopping at King Soopers with your re-loadable card. For details on how to get your card, click HERE.
COUNSELING CORNER
Here is news from our counseling office:

See Ms. Brooks in 226A with questions or feel free to call at 720-423-8378 or email Candace_brooks@dpsk12.org.
Senior College Application Process. The counseling office has developed a flow chart that shows the steps for applying to college. Click the link and check it out.
