Library Board Trustee Jose Melendrez Says, If You Love Your Library, Tell A Friend   

Jose MelendrezWe're partnering with DISCOVERY Children's Museum for a library card sign-up month in April!

Encourage your friends and family to sign up for a library card between April 1 and April 30, or if they already have a library card, Like Us on Facebook.

They'll be automatically entered for a chance to win the Grand Prize of a DISCOVERY Children's Museum gift basket, which includes a Family 4 Level membership. Existing LVCCLD library cardholders can receive a $3 discount off admission.

Clear Your Fines While Helping the Less Fortunate
 
Food for ThoughtDo you have an overdue library item? Is there a fine you need to pay?

Get overdue fines waived by donating canned or packaged food during Food for Thought, a library community food drive that begins today and runs through April 30.

For each consumable, non-perishable, unopened, canned or packaged food item you bring into the library we'll waive up to $2 in fines. You will also be able to replace your lost or missing library card for free. All donations collected will go to Three Square.

LegoKids will have fun participating in STEAM programs this month. STEAM is an acronym for science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics. The library offers book clubs at many branches for those who love to read and want to share their reading experiences with others. Joining a book club is a great way to meet new people who like to read as much as you do.

Dale Sprague Comes to The Studio

Dale Sprague Transition to Fall
Don't miss the opening reception on Friday, April 8 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at The Studio @ Sahara West Library of Abstract Color Play. Exhibiting through May 14, Sprague's improvisational paintings feature dynamic color blends and organic forms in the pursuit of soothing, fluid compositions.
