Philly Harp Happenings
2016 has already proven to provide a variety of harp inspired events to pique the interest of harpists and fans of the harp alike.  Thank you to those of you who continue to support these efforts.  The officers of your Philly Chapter are appreciative of your continued support and participation.  We are looking forward to our agenda of harp events to close-out the 2016 year while we anticipate some exciting opportunities in 2017.

Auditions and Evaluations was a success earlier this year and we would like to congratulate all of the aspiring harpists who came our and participated in this rewarding opportunity.  Special thanks to our judges and officers who made this possible.

The AHS Conference was a success this year and many members of our local chapter were in attendance.  If you have never had the opportunity to attend an AHS conference we would highly recommend it.  Workshops, concerts, master classes and time spent with harpist friends from around the country is proves for an extremely rewarding experience.  Our very own Vice President, Elizabeth Huston performed a pieces she has previously performed here in Philadelphia as part of the Fringe Arts Festival.  Her avant garde performance was well-received.

In November, we are happy to sponsor a Harp Concert featuring renowned harpist Katherine Siochi and in December we are anticipating a Harp Recital featuring local harp talent.  Keep reading for more details and as always, be sure to follow us on facebook for updates as to current harp happenings in and around the Greater Philadelphia Area.

The Recital will be held at West Catholic High School and is open to members of the Philly Chapter and students of members.

The deadline to register is Saturday November 26th.  The concert will begin at 2:00pm and will be open to the general public.  Participants are must arrive at 1:00pm for setup, tuning and program run-through.
