Introversion and Risk Taking

I recently finished a book by Susan Cain entitled Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking. In this brilliant and personally revelatory book, there is a list of 12 true-or-false questions that, once answered, suggest where you probably fall along the introvert-extrovert spectrum. As I could have told you---or as most people would tell me after spending a half-hour in my company---I fall firmly into the introvert camp, having answered 10 of the 12 questions in the way a typical introvert would answer them. Of course, the most interesting questions to me were the ones in which my responses pointed toward qualities more typical of extroverts. The first was willingness to share one’s work before it’s considered done (considered an extrovert trait). For me, a writer/editor who has often collaborated with other people to craft documents, showing early or incomplete drafts is essential to avoiding disaster down the road, so I discounted that one a bit. The second of these two questions, however, got me thinking:
True or False: I’m not a big risk-taker.
