Hi Dulcimering Friend,
We are very glad to see so many of you practicing in 2012. And to keep things interesting, Steve and I have been hard at work adding new lessons.
New Lessons Since New Year's Eve ...
I am very proud to introduce our new series, Celtic Music for Dulcimers. Steve began by preparing several lessons for the mountain dulcimer players. The topics are quite intriguing: Reels, Jig Strums, Slip Jigs, Hornpipes - and soon coming, Strathspeys. What's on earth is that? Hmmm ... I have NO idea! I'll have to watch that lesson along with you.

Check out all the recent additions to our lesson list:
1/16/12: America the Beautiful for Hammered Dulcimer
1/16/12: Celtic Music for Mountain Dulcimers: Lesson 7 - Hornpipes
1/13/12: Celtic Music for Dulcimers: Lessons 1-6 for Mountain Dulcimers
1/1/12: String-Side UP for Mountain Dulcimer, Lessons 18 - 24
1/1/12: String-Side UP for Hammered Dulcimer, Lessons 23 - 24
In Production at Dulcimer Crossing ...
Lessons planned for the immediate future include:
-
More lessons for the Absolute Beginner Series, String-Side UP
-
More lessons for the Celtic Music for Dulcimers series
-
The Star-Spangled Banner for hammered dulcimer players
Another Challenge Overcome ...
Many of our students like to set their iPads on the music stand, and practice along with our lessons. As you know, it was a challenge making everything "iHappy." But, that problem exists no more. The videos and the animations now all play on iPad, and by the end of the month all the back-up tracks will also play on iPad and iPhone.
Comments are Welcomed ...
I have virtually recoded every single page on the website (over 1,000 webpages) to make Dulcimer Crossing "iHappy," and now and then I discover something missing, or an error in the new coding. Always feel free to send a quick email to Steve or myself if you discover something that needs to be corrected.
Happy dulcimering,
Linda Ratcliff
